Two international societies, the Association Research Circulation Osseous (ARCO) and the International Society for Fracture Repair (ISFR) invite to a combined symposium. The object is to bring together the knowledge base and interest of the two societies to provide an update on bone circulation and angiogenesis as relevant to clinical practice. The bi-annual symposium of ARCO will be followed by a one-day workshop of the ISFR. The ARCO Symposium will address state-of-the-art developments and controversies in treatment and assessment of avascular necrosis. The ISFR-workshop invites basic scientists and clinicians to discuss the inter-relationship of fracture healing, angiogenesis and bone blood flow – lateral thinking is encouraged by including experts with diverse backgrounds. The aim is to enhance understanding and to explore new assessment and treatment strategies. Topics include:
